Production Week Calculation
This feature supports improved planning of fieldwork logistics. It defines the time frame of a production week, enabling more precise resource scheduling. It provides a foundation for informed agronomic and economic decision-making throughout the season. It also facilitates financial result forecasting and professional farm management.
In the new version, the FarmPortal application calculates the production week based on the specified dates:
- start of cultivation on the field
- expected harvest date
- planned end of cultivation
- planned start date of an agrotechnical operation
- planned end date of an agrotechnical operation
Crop production weeks are displayed below the calendar.
Production week calculations are particularly important in intensive and high-cost crops, where in-season decisions have a significant impact on economic performance. This applies primarily to open-field and protected vegetable production, soft fruits (e.g. strawberry, raspberry, blueberry), and commercial orchards. They are also critical in contract production, where cost, quality, and timing control are essential, as well as in crops requiring frequent crop protection and irrigation operations. Contracted production supply chains are managed using the FoodPass application.
